SUMMARY:Volunteer with CSC at Project First Day — NY
DESCRIPTION:Come join us at Project First Day in New York! We’re looking for volunteers for a minimum of 4 hours\, with multiple shifts available on Monday\, August 4 through Friday\, August 8\, 2025\, from either 9 am – 1 pm or 1 pm – 5 pm ET. \nYour work ensures the success of our Project First Day back-to-school drive. The program provides over 1\,500 New York City students in need with a new outfit\, shoes\, a backpack\, and grade-specific school supplies for the entire year. \nThe setup volunteer will work with a team to help set up the space for the drive. The work will include removing boxes of school supplies from pallets to sort them by supply type\, as well as carrying and setting up large folding tables. Setup volunteers will also be called upon to help accept deliveries down at the loading dock and to bring up the necessary items through the freight elevators using the provided commercial laundry bins and hand trucks. \n \nWHEN\nShifts available Monday\, August 4 – Friday\, August 8\, 2025 \n9 am – 1 pm / 1 pm – 5 pm ET\n \nWHERE\nProject First Day\n114 W 47th St\nNew York\, NY 10036\n \nWHO\nCSA members\, family\, and friends\n \nHOW\nSign up online \n\nFor information or to sponsor a child or teen\, go to www.projectswithcare.org/pfd-csa. We’ll join our fellow Film/TV/Broadway colleagues to learn more about the vital work Covenant House does to uplift and support young people overcoming homelessness\, to hear some inspiring youth speakers share their stories\, and participate in activities. This August will be our 8th SLEEP OUT as Team Casting & Friends\, and although we’ve been small\, Team Casting has raised well over $100\,000 for Covenant House.
