Volunteer with CSC at Project First Day — NY

Come join us at Project First Day in New York! We’re looking for volunteers for a minimum of 4 hours, with multiple shifts available on Monday, August 4 through Friday, August 8, 2025, from either 9 am – 1 pm or 1 pm – 5 pm ET.
Your work ensures the success of our Project First Day back-to-school drive. The program provides over 1,500 New York City students in need with a new outfit, shoes, a backpack, and grade-specific school supplies for the entire year.
The setup volunteer will work with a team to help set up the space for the drive. The work will include removing boxes of school supplies from pallets to sort them by supply type, as well as carrying and setting up large folding tables. Setup volunteers will also be called upon to help accept deliveries down at the loading dock and to bring up the necessary items through the freight elevators using the provided commercial laundry bins and hand trucks.

For information or to sponsor a child or teen, go to www.projectswithcare.org/pfd-csa. Once you sign up, you will be sent a student’s Mad Lib, instructions, and details about where to deliver or send your backpack if out of NY. For out-of-town sponsors, backpacks are due by Friday, August 1. The New York in-person drop-off day is Wednesday, August 6.
